It's funny how life shifts people in and out of our lives. I've been involved with photographing this family and extended family on and off for the past several years. Katie had never booked me personally but I've worked with her sister, cousins and even her best friend, so it was a pleasant little surprise when her name popped up in my inbox. She reached out a few months back, inquiring about a summer family session, even though summer seamed like it would never actually come. With thunderstorms in the forecast for the day we had marked in our calendars over weeks ago, we stuck to it and I'm so glad we did! We ended up with the perfect weather and such an awesome session together!
Their oldest was a little shy, but warmed up quickly when he realized he didn't have to stand still or plaster a pretend smile on his face and his baby brother was an absolute joy, laughing and smiling so easily. We made a blanket tent, had tickle fights, blew duck calls, talked superheroes and their 3 year old even got to get behind the camera himself.
It's always an honor to capture memories for families when the days are long, but the years are short. The P Family was no exception, I'm so grateful to client's like them who entrust me with these precious years!
